PUBLIC HEALTH/HOUSING ANALYST (ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE)

The Position

We are currently seeking a public health/housing analyst to work in the Northern California region. This is a primarily in-office work position, with flexibility for remote work when necessary, given the current times. This is a full-time position. If you don’t live in close proximity to our Sacramento-area office, but think you’re a good fit for the firm, reach out anyways. We’re more interested in talent and motivation than we are geography, and we have active plans to open new office locations, particularly in the Bay Area.

We are seeking a public health and housing analyst to assist in the preparation of community health, environmental justice, and housing plans, and to work with local jurisdictions to accelerate and encourage equitable access to community service and housing opportunities. The position involves designing and implementing data collection through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and demographical data and preparing written reports, data profiles, and presentations. We have projects throughout California ranging from rural counties to urban centers.

Assignments and responsibilities will be based on experience, skill sets, and the interests of the employee. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Services, City/Regional Planning, or other closely related field.

  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience (assistant analyst) or a minimum of 5 years of professional experience (associate analyst) in the public health, social service, affordable housing, or planning fields

  • Experience analyzing demographical and statistical data

  • Experience analyzing education, economic, and environmental patterns and effects on equitable access to housing and services

  • Experience writing narrative describing health and human service, housing, and community needs and developing approaches and programs to address needs

  • Experience in identifying housing needs associated with underserved populations, including persons with a disability, farmworkers, homeless, and seniors

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction, while also working well in a collaborative team setting.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • A desire to grow professionally.

Assistant AND/OR ASSOCIATE PLANNER

The Position
We are currently seeking Assistant and Associate-level planners to work out of our Sacramento area office. Given the current times, remote working is certainly allowed, with some face time in the office expected as well. We’re flexible, and will work to establish the balance that works best. This is a full-time position. If you don’t live in close proximity to our Sacramento-area office, but think you’re a good fit for the firm, reach out anyways. We’re more interested in talent and motivation than we are geography.

We are seeking planners to assist with a wide range of project types, including but not limited to: General Plans, Specific Plans, Zoning Codes, Housing Elements, and all types of CEQA projects.

Assistant Planners must have an educational background in city planning, or a closely related field, such as environmental studies.

Associate Planners must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the planning field, including experience working for a private consulting firm.

Senior or Principal Planner

The Position
We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal-level planner to work in the Northern California region. Given the current times, remote working is expected initially, and we hope to transition back to a flexible in-office work environment as conditions allow. This is a full-time position. If you don’t live in close proximity to our Sacramento-area office, but think you’re a good fit for the firm, reach out anyways. We’re more interested in talent and motivation than we are geography, and we have active plans to open new office locations, particularly in the Bay Area.

We are seeking an experienced long-range planner to lead and manage general plan updates, specific plans, and potentially housing elements, based on experience and interest. We have planning projects throughout California ranging from rural counties to urban centers. The successful candidate will also be trained and supported in business development, and will have opportunities to supervise, train, and manage staff.

There is tremendous growth potential associated with this position, as we are looking to find and develop our senior leadership and project management team. Assignments and responsibilities will be based on experience, skill sets, and the interests of the employee. Senior Planner/ CEQA Project Manager, Orange County

The Position
Our Tustin office is currently seeking a full time Senior Planner/Project Manager to work primarily on environmental projects (CEQA) throughout Southern California, with minimal direction and oversight. Given the current times, remote working is certainly allowed, with some face time in the office expected as well. We’re flexible, and will work to establish the balance that works best. This is a full-time position. If you don’t live in close proximity to our Orange County office, but think you’re a good fit for the firm, reach out anyways. We’re more interested in talent and motivation than we are geography, and we have active plans to open new office locations, particularly in the Inland Empire.

The position includes research, writing, and management of all aspects of a wide range of CEQA documents, including representing the firm at public hearings and workshops. This position includes business development responsibilities, and the successful candidate will be expected to help grow our CEQA services throughout the southern California region. This position also requires the supervision and development of junior-level employees. This is a challenging position that requires exceptional writing and research skills, meticulous attention to detail, the ability to handle and meet multiple deadlines, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate must possess a desire for professional growth and development, be willing and able to develop and nurture relationships with clients, and be able to represent the firm with the utmost professionalism and work quality at all times.
