Senior Planner/ CEQA Project Manager - Orange County
Our Tustin office is currently seeking a full time Senior Planner/Project Manager to work primarily on environmental projects (CEQA) with minimal direction and oversight. This includes research, writing, and management of all aspects of a wide range of CEQA documents, including representing the firm at public hearings and workshops. This position includes extensive business development responsibilities, and the successful candidate will be expected to help grow our CEQA services throughout the southern California region. This position also requires the supervision and development of junior-level employees. This is a challenging position that requires exceptional writing and research skills, meticulous attention to detail, the ability to handle and meet multiple deadlines, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate must posses a desire for professional growth and development, be willing and able to develop and nurture relationships with clients, and be able to represent the firm with the utmost professionalism and work quality at all times.
Bachelor’s degree in City/Regional Planning, Environmental Studies, or other closely related field. A Master’s degree is desirable.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive professional planning experience, including 3 or more years of project management experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the private sector is required.
Working knowledge of CEQA is mandatory, and the successful candidate will have experience preparing all aspects of a wide range of complex CEQA documents. A working knowledge of NEPA is desirable.
An understanding of the principles and practices of community planning.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction, while also working well in a collaborative team setting.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
